Dear patients, families and other members of the wonderful atresia/microtia group,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Youssef Tahiri. I am a board-certified pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon with a special interest in Microtia reconstruction. In brief, after I graduated from McGill Medical School, in Montreal, Canada, I completed my Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at McGill University and became certified by the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as the American Board of Plastic Surgery. During my residency, I also obtained a Masters Degree in Experimental Surgery, which he obtained with Honors. Following my training at McGill, I completed an ACGME accredited Pediatric and Adult Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship at the No.1 ranked Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and at the prestigious Ivy League University of Pennsylvania. Following that, I joined Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children, where I routinely performed complex craniofacial procedures as well as cartilage and MEDPOR™ ear reconstructions. After spending few years in Indiana in practice in Indiana, I decided to dedicate myself to MEDPOR™ Ear Reconstruction for Microtia and moved to Los Angeles to join Dr. Reinisch. I am honored to mention that I was hand-selected by Dr. John Reinisch to partner and continue his practice of Microtia reconstruction.
My philosophy of practice is that I treat patients like my own family members. I sincerely mean this. It is very important to me. I am a perfectionist and always aim to give the best result to my patients. My technique for ear reconstruction is identical to the one of Dr. Reinisch. Him and I are friends and partners and we discuss on a daily basis all Microtia cases and keep thinking about how we can improve constantly our results.
Finally, it is important to mention that I am contracted with most (if not all) insurance companies/plans as well as Medical/Medicaid. Dr. Reinisch and I also share and office and we can also always ask his opinion, since he is the founder of the MEDPOR™ Ear Reconstruction technique. I can also do free skype consultations
